Patricia Moore chose PEI for her contribution to the Oh Canada exhibition. The artist works in her PEI studio for several months each year.

The Island is in my mind.

My paintings for OH CANADA reflect PEI and particularly my area of the Island. The way the sky and water mirror each other. The way the land lays low and undulating, the clouds fleecing gently across the sky.

Watching the fishers and their days. Early morning heading out to sea. Returning from open water through the gut mid afternoon. The boats are tethered, at rest, then out again in many shades of weather.

Boats, soft shadows on the water, in fog, in early rays of the sun and in the deep long shadows after the sun has set. They are anchors.
