“When thinking about the latest paintings, I think of sounds and movement in the realm of metaphor.
Darkness looms at the edges, like thunder – black – retreating, muffled, faded. Like history, revealed in flashes of memory, bright, crisp, hard. Like dancing- moving – at once compressed and closed in – then released. Like sounds heard amid quiet, they suggest narrative, presenting the tensions between what is full and dense and what is free and clear.”
